The American Hotel. A tribute to the property’s rich and colorful history. From being the homestead of Williams Bay founder, Captain Israel Williams, to the Bayside Motel, a popular destination spot for Midwest
travelers in the 1950s-60s. The motel was a convenient downtown motor inn. In 2007, it was sold and converted to apartments. In 2023, Terese and Casey Tormoen bought the property with the dream of renovating it back to its original mid-century charm along with modern day amenities. The American Hotel opened in 2024 and revives the simpler times reminiscent of mid-century America. The individually designed hotel spaces draw elements of the most popular cinema from the 50s and 60s to create a unique lodging experience. All rooms invite relaxation and comfort for our guests.
